Astrology can diffuse tension.
Astrology can inspire play.
Astrology can transform conflict.
Astrology can instill self-pride and self-delight.
Herein I illustrate this through a concrete anecdote. I tell a story where my kids were in conflict but when I called in their archetypal natures through creating character metaphors they jumped at the chance to inhabit their character metaphors with delight and conflict was forgotten.
Until my kid bumped into me and spilled my coffee and I got mad and had to apologize and then it was time to go to camp and the wheel keeps turning. Le sigh. Parenting is the hardest thing and grace, grace, grace, oodles of grace for us all.
A brief, incomplete primer (workshop coming soon with more expanded ideas) to archetypal characters to offer your kids (always be sure to stay attuned to whether these resonate or need workshopping - ultimately your kid is the only rightful authority on what character metaphor they inhabit):
Starting with the current season:
Cancer: the innocent child (think Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood), the cute baby animal (think Bambi), the one who breaks a spell with their gentle, genuine care
Leo: the Hero who saves the village, the good/beloved king/queen
Virgo: the fairy godmother, the riddle-solver
